Luxury Comfort in the Mountains
We stayed in Bweza Lodge as a base for gorilla tracking. The staff are wonderful and the views sensational. Don’t miss the woodfire on the terrace in the evening. Rooms... read more overlook the valley and you are right in the middle of the forrest. Such a great place, we‘ll come again.
The most welcoming, wonderful place to stay in all of Uganda. The views are stunning, the food is delicious, the room very comfortable... but the things that we'll never forget... read more are Aida's warmth, the chameleons they found for our chameleon-obsessed kids, dancing to Ugandan music with Aida, the songs & dance from the local community, Gilbert cleaning our shoes after a hike (so much appreciated after I stepped in something very smelly), the warm water bottles they put in your bed at night... I cannot say enough good things about the lodge and the people who work there and wish them all the best.
Our children were too young to go gorilla trekking (though it's worth checking with Wyclef of Gorillas & Beyond to see if that's still the case), but we loved going for a hike in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and finding a gorilla on our trek anyway (the forest elephant: not so much). Bwindi and Bweza Lodge are definitely worth a stop even if you're not planning on going gorilla trekking. More
